Product General Information
For those who appreciate museum quality
Before starting mass production, we spend approximately 1 month producing 10 samples of designs. Our designer works at our shade factory every day, full time, controlling the production process. Every sample requires 1 week for choosing the right glass, and the right color combination. Our mission is to create a real piece of art -- an impressionist picture in glass. And this requires 10 to 15 types of different glass to achieve the variety of color including the variations of the same color and the richness of texture, in comparison with 3 to 5 types of glass on a lower-end Tiffany lamp. The glass we use is ONLY the high-end transparent glass which is 5 to 6 times more expensive than the regular stained glass. The lower-end glass looks like plastic, and completely loses its luminance. In a cheaper Tiffany lamp, there is nothing left of a real stained glass lamp, which is all about Tiffany's fascination with light. Do not be fooled by lower prices because by buying a cheaper Tiffany lamp you are simply buying surrogate plastic. Please check the pictures of the details for every lamp to closely see the quality of the glass. Please refer to the Stained Glass Technique section for more details on how a stained glass lamp is made.
We produce our solid bronze bases at our sculpture factory that specializes ONLY in lost wax bronze technique. Our base factory NEVER casts zinc alloy or iron bases (not speaking of poly-resin). So-called "antique patina finish" on zinc alloy bases is incapable of reproducing the effect of real patinated bronze. It simply looks like a heavy paint on a white metal. Nothing else looks like a real bronze! In addition, zinc alloy is incapable of furnishing a finer detail on a base, because zinc is not as soft as copper. Cast iron is an even cruder material than zinc alloy. Poly-resin bases can crumble right in your hands. Please check the pictures of the details for every base to closely see the quality of bronze.
On our bases, we do not use pull-chains, because they are easily broken. We use a finely shaped switch.
All our lamps are UL listed, and use 2 standard 60-watt bulbs.
Please make a note of our finials. They are most expensive on the market.
We use drop-test packaging for our shipments, which is much safer (and much more expensive) than a regular poly-foam packaging. Please refer the Shipping Information section under Customer Service to see the pictures of our packaging.
Our every production line comes with a high-quality catalogue. For our catalogues, we do not use paper less than 220 mg / 250 mg for the cover. Please refer to the Order Catalogue section under Customer Service to see the images of the catalogue.
Every lamp comes with the certificate of authenticity.
